Mysterious Findings [OPEN]

Shane was nervously glancing around while she thought bout it. He was hoping he wasn't being too forward or something of the like, he figured she was maybe iffy about him or had some disorder. Oh god, maybe she was sick and he was being a dick just asking her like that. Before he was consumed too much by his own insecurity, she answered. Shane hopped up with a wide grin, stumbling a bit thanks to his fake leg.

"Awesome, I know a great little cafe."

He picked up his bag and flipped it over his shoulder. Was he overexcited and loud? Maybe but she was the first of hopefully more great friends to make at this school. Maybe he should've calmed down so she was more comfortable, but she did seem to like his excited silly self. He shook himself out of his thoughts before glancing at her book.

"You want to check out that book before we go?"

As Shane jumped up quickly, Mari laughed. She didn't think he would be so excited about walking around with her. But Mari also felt relieved. Shane already knew where to go and what to do. Mari let out a sigh of relief and stood up, brushing out her dress afterward. She was really looking forward to seeing more of the town, especially in this rain! The only reason she hadn't walked around was to avoid getting lost. But now someone was with her to help her!
Mari watched as Shane picked up his things and smiled. She had another new friend!

"You want to check out that book before we go?"

Suddenly, Mari remembered the book she was holding. Shane had taken her attention completely away from her original goal. But she didn't mind one bit. After all, going out would be much more fun than staying in the library reading. She nodded.

"Sure! I.. Uh.. Don't know how, though."

Although, Mari wondered what to do about the rain. She was overjoyed that she would get the chance to walk through it, but being wet the rest of the day wasn't something she wanted. Mari didn't have an umbrella they could use. Maybe Shane would have one? Mari couldn't help but smile as she asked.

"Do you have.. an umbrella for us to use?"

"Oh yeah I think we just go to the librarian over there, don't worry she's nice"

Shane smiled pointing towards the librarian near the exit, at least she seemed nice after letting him check out an entire series, maybe it was just the school being more accommodating that'd make sense. Her question had him shaking away his rambling thoughts before suddenly smiling, then having that smile fall, what if he didn't have one. He placed his bag down on the table and searched through it, slightly nervous, before having his face light up as he nodded, as if there wasn't any doubt to it.

"Don't worry madame we shall not be soaked to the bone today."

He smiled as he bowed a bit before going up to put his own book back, he had already read the entire series and figured he shouldn't take just the second book, so someone else can have a chance with it. He picked up his bag once more, and smiled at her.

"So I'm all ready to go."

Mari nodded as Shane told her about the librarian and looked as he pointed toward her. She was a bit nervous to go and talk, but decided that she wouldn't have to do much except for hand her book to another person..

Mari watched as Shane searched through his things to meet her request. She smiled once Shane found his umbrella in the bag. But once Shane bowed to her, she felt a little flustered and ended up slightly backing up.

"Ah.. uh.."

The quick gesture soon ended and Shane went to return the book he had grabbed as well as smiling at Mari happily. She smiled back and nodded along with Shane's word to go. She stepped over to the librarian with him and handed the book over. The procedure was over fairly quickly, with Mari having to hand over her student ID in the process. She was lucky enough to have forgotten it in her pocket from the day she was enrolled.

Soon the two students left the library and ventured into the town...
